At Sky Design Co., we often say that the most meaningful gifts tell a story.
Sometimes that story is funny. Sometimes it’s sentimental. And sometimes it’s a collection of small moments that seem ordinary at the time but become treasured memories years later.
This custom engraved Stanley Classic Legendary Bottle is one of those stories.
More Than a Thermos
When our customer reached out to us, she wasn’t simply looking for a personalized gift. She wanted to recreate a piece of her childhood.
Growing up, her dad carried a Stanley thermos to work every single day. It was part of his daily routine—a familiar sight that became woven into some of her earliest memories of him.
Her father worked long hours and started his days before sunrise. Every night before bed, she would ask him the same question:
“What time do you have to wake up for work tomorrow?”
Without fail, his answer was always the same:
“O’dark thirty.”
It’s a phrase many people know, but for this family, those words became part of their story.
The Words That Last Forever
Along with “O’dark thirty,” there was another phrase her father repeated throughout her childhood.
Whenever he told his daughter goodnight, he would say:
“I love you from here to the moon and further.”
Like many family sayings, it became more than just words. It became a reminder of unconditional love, safety, and connection.
As we worked together to design this engraving, we wanted every element to reflect those memories.
Designing a Story

Every detail on this Stanley bottle was intentionally chosen.
The moon symbolizes the phrase her father always told her:
“I love you from here to the moon and further.”
The heart reflected in the water represents the bond they share—a connection that remains strong no matter how much time passes.
And the dragonfly honors one of the sweetest details of all.
Her father’s nickname for her was:
“My little bug.”
To anyone else, it might seem like a simple image. To their family, it tells an entire story.
At the bottom of the design, the words “O’dark thirty” serve as a lasting reminder of those childhood conversations before bed and the sacrifices her father made every day for his family.
